Orian Davidson - Titanic First Class Passenger
Mrs Orian Davidson was travelling aboard Titanic as a first class passenger with her husband Thornton Davidson, her father Charles Melville Hays, her mother Clara Jennings Hays, her parent’s maid Mary Anne Perreault, and Vivian Ponsonby Payne, a friend of the family.
Both occupying cabin B71, Orian Davidson and her husband joined the ship at Cherbourg; the rest of the group had already boarded Titanic earlier in the day at Southampton. They had been on a trip to Europe and were travelling aboard Titanic as part of their journey home to Montreal, Québec, Canada.
Orian Davidson was born on 18th November 1884. She married Thornton Davidson on 3rd November 1906.
Orian Davidson escaped Titanic with her mother and her mother’s maid in Lifeboat 3. She lost both her husband and her father in the Titanic disaster. Their family friend, Vivian Ponsonby Payne, was also lost.
At some point she eventually remarried to Robert Newmarch Hickson (born in 1879).
She died on 3rd May 1979, and was buried beside her second husband, Robert Newmarch Hickson, at Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal, Québec, Canada. Robert Newmarch Hickson had died on 19th June 1960.
