Ada Doling - Titanic Second Class Passenger
Mrs Ada Julia Elizabeth Doling was a second class passenger travelling aboard Titanic with her sister in law Elsie Doling. Accompanied by her sister in law, she was travelling to America to visit her mother in New York. They boarded Titanic at Southampton on 10th April 1912.
Ada Doling, the daughter of William and Julia Bone, was born on the Isle Wight, United Kingdom on 9th September 1877. She married John Thomas Doling in 1898. They lived in Southampton, and they had five children John Doling (born in1899), William Doling (born in 1902), Reginald Doling (born in 1903), Victor Doling (born in 1906), and later, Ida Doling (born in 1913).
Ada Doling and her sister in law both survived the Titanic disaster and safely arrived in New York aboard Cunard Line’s Carpathia, the ship that rescued Titanic’s 712 survivors.
They returned home in May 1912.
Ada Doling died around the time of the 50th anniversary of the Titanic disaster. She died on 11th April 1962, exactly 50 years ago that day since Titanic left Queenstown, Ireland – her last stop on her journey to New York. Ada Doling’s husband had died in 1938.
