Augustus Henry Aldworth - Titanic Second Class Passenger

Mr Augustus Henry Aldworth (often listed or referred to as Charles Augustus Aldworth) was a second class passenger travelling aboard Titanic to the United States.

He was born in 1877 in the county of Berkshire in the United Kingdom.

He boarded Titanic at Southampton on 10th April 1912, traveling due to his employment as the chauffer of first class passenger William Ernest Carter and his family. William Carter was traveling in first class with his wife Lucile Carter, his son William Thornton Carter, his daughter Lucile Polk Carter, his manservant Alexandre Cairns and his wife’s maid Auguste Serreplan. In Titanic’s cargo hold was a 1912 Renault Type CB Coupe de Ville car, a replica of which is prominently featured in the 1997 Titanic film.

Augustus Henry Aldworth was lost when Titanic sank. His body is not known to have been recovered. All of the Carter family and their maid survived but William Carter’s manservant Alexandre Cairns was also lost.
