Charles Alexander Fortune - Titanic First Class Passenger

Charles Alexander Fortune was a first class passenger traveling home aboard Titanic with his father Mark, his mother Mary, his 23 year old sister Mabel, his 24 year old sister Alice and his 28 year old sister Ethel. He had travelled with his family from their home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to tour Europe. They all boarded Titanic at Southampton on 10th April 1912, and shared starboard side C Deck cabins C23, 25 and 27.

Charles Alexander Fortune was born in Winnipeg on 13th October 1892. He was the youngest child of his parents, and in addition to the three sisters he travelled aboard Titanic with he also had an elder brother Robert (born in 1877) and an elder sister Clara (born in 1879). Prior to leaving Canada for his tour of Europe he is said to have recently graduated from Bishop's College, Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada and to have been intending to study at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec.

Charles Alexander Fortune and his father were lost at sea in the Titanic disaster on 15th April 1912. His and his father’s bodies are not known to have been amongst those afterwards recovered from the sea. His mother and sisters were rescued in Lifeboat 10.
