4th April: On this day 112 years ago: In the early hours of the morning, Titanic completed her first sea crossing - her delivery trip from Belfast to Southampton, with just six days to go before her maiden voyage. 3rd April:

For the first and last time, making her way towards Southampton from Belfast, Titanic, sailed south through the Irish Sea, Celtic Sea and then east through the English Channel. In the evening at a vast distance she passed her sister ship Olympic.

2nd April:

Titanic successfully completed her sea trials which included carrying out manoeuvres in the water around Belfast and sailing out in to the Irish Sea. Later in the day she sailed away from Belfast for the last time, sailing towards Southampton.

1st April:

Less than 2 weeks before her maiden voyage, Captain Smith took command of Titanic, and Titanic's sea trials were supposed to have taken place but were cancelled due to unfavourable sea conditions.
