Titanic Video
I am a teacher and want to show my students them finding the Titanic. I haven't found one that is great for upper elementary students. Does anyone have any recommendations?

"Titanic: The Legend Lives On" (National Geographic) - This documentary offers a good balance of historical information and underwater footage of the Titanic's wreck mapquest. National Geographic often provides resources that are educational and engaging for younger audiences.

If you're looking for a way to show your upper elementary students the discovery of the Titanic, there are a few great options that are both engaging and age-appropriate:
"Titanic: A Child’s Perspective" by National Geographic Kids
This resource focuses on the Titanic through the eyes of children, offering a more relatable approach for young students. It includes visuals, animations, and stories that are appropriate for upper elementary levels.
"Finding the Titanic" by Robert D. Ballard
This book is a great mix of historical information and the discovery of the Titanic, written in a way that is accessible to younger readers. It’s often used in classrooms to introduce the topic in a compelling and age-appropriate manner.
YouTube Channels like "History for Kids"
Channels specifically designed for younger audiences sometimes cover historical events like the Titanic’s discovery in a way that’s both informative and suitable for elementary students. They often simplify complex ideas without losing the essence of the event.
Documentary Excerpts
You might also consider showing short clips from documentaries like "Titanic: 20 Years Later with James Cameron" or the original National Geographic special by Robert Ballard. While the entire documentaries might be too advanced, select excerpts that focus on the discovery could be suitable if accompanied by explanations.
If you’re looking for something interactive, myassignmenthelp.com websites like Scholastic also have resources and lesson plans about the Titanic that might include more engaging activities for students
