Frans Olof Carlsson - Titanic First Class Passenger

Frans Olof Carlsson was a 33 year old first class passenger travelling aboard Titanic back to New York, United States. He boarded Titanic in Southampton, United Kingdom on 10th April 1912.

He was born on 29th September 1878.

He is said to have been serving as First Mate aboard the SS St Louis, operated by the American Line, but due to a shortage of coal caused by a national coal strike in Britain, which ended a few days before Titanic’s maiden voyage, SS Louis departure from Southampton had to be delayed until an adequate amount of coal was available. Rather than wait with the ship, he was sent to sail back to America aboard Titanic.

Frans Olof Carlsson did not survive the sinking of Titanic. His body is not known to have been recovered or to have been identified.
